The kitchen sink and its view
Minnesota Mom posted a picture of the view from her kitchen sink and suggested others do the same.
She writes “a simple notion and yet, such a gesture of friendship. After all, the kitchen sink is where we live, breathe, pray, watch the children playing out back, and (if you’re like me) heave the occasional sigh.”
I like the idea. I like seeing the pictures of others sinks and views. I like the idea that when I’m standing at mine I can remember I’m not alone, that there are other mothers just like me standing at their sinks serving their families and fulfilling their vocations.
It’s a kinship inspired by something so simple and ordinary. It’s lovely really.
So, here’s my sink and the view from it.
Not very exciting is it? But there it is.
