As life has gotten busier over the years I have tried to simplify more and more. I was a pack rat as a child –my closet so full of junk I had to open and close it really fast so the contents wouldn’t spill out. I got over that and am quite the clutter hater now. Maybe having 10 children does that to you or maybe it was the Army and the very limited moving weight limits of a low level enlisted man. Maybe it was living in Germany for 3 years where clean and simple oozes from the sidewalks –except that metaphor doesn’t really work since the sidewalks are pristine, but you know what I mean.
In any case as life’s gotten more complicated over the years I’ve tended to look for little ways to simplify my life. There are probably many areas that I could still simplify but rather than go looking for them (’cause I’m way too tired for that kind of nonsense) I usually just try to deal with them as they come up. It works for now.
All that to say you may have (or more likely, may not have) noticed that there are suddenly more posts on this blog. Not new posts, old posts and most of them somehow related to my obsession favorite hobby of sewing. That’s because I imported them from my sewing and crafting blog which I am no longer going to be posting at. Not because I’m not sewing anymore –I can’t imagine that– but because I am simplifying. If you couldn’t care less about my sewing I apologize in advance, but truth be told it’s a big part of our family-centered life here. My husband and children have always seen me doing it, always known they could get me to fix or make something they needed. It’s a way I nurture my family. Some moms bake, I sew. That’s me.
Let’s just say I’m pretty good at keeping them all in stitches.
