Simple Woman’s Daybook for September 8th, 2008

September 8, 2008

Don’t forget to stop by Peggy’s for all the links entered in this week’s Simple Woman’s Daybook.

Outside my window. . .Clear and cool.  Bright and brisk.  OK it’s not exactly “brisk” but it sounded nice.  Still there is a hint of a chill. . .

I am thinking. . . about fall and school and remembering how “back to school” felt when I was a kid.  It was always so exciting those first few days.  I wonder if my kids feel that way?  They sure seem excited.

I am thankful for. . . a 20 oz. coffee this morning –because I just didn’t sleep well and boy do I need it!

From the kitchen. . . oatmeal and toast.  OK time to get back to planning dinners ahead of time.  Tonight is ham, green beans and potatoes cooked all day in the crock pot.  It’s a kid favorite here.

I am creating. . . still working on lesson plans.  I am finished enough that we can start but I have to keep going.  I’m also working on the next planner.

I am going. . . to the post office to send the last of the summer planner orders and then to the grocery store.  I need to get some things for a birthday celebration we’re having today.

I am wearing. . . navy knit slacks, brown tee top and tan crocs.  Hair is brushed and pulled off my face with tiny clips.  No make-up.  My eyes keep watering, here come those fall allergies.

I am reading. . . For the Children’s Sake and When Children Love to Learn.  Two favorite Charlotte Mason method books.  The former I read 14 years ago when we first started and it’s still an inspiration, the latter became a favorite because I believe it’s a great representation of what this method looks like in practice.

I am hoping. . . For a good day, a good week, a great year.

I am hearing. . . the whirl of the ceiling fan and the clicking of the keyboard keys.  Other than that it’s pretty quiet for the moment.

Around the house. . . besides starting school which is our big deal here this week, I am on a purging and organizing kick.  Everything, and it feels great!

One of my favorite things. . .the sweet smell of the baby when she wakes up and the feel of her soft smooth skin.  The way she smiles and says “uh huh” when you ask her if she wants to eat.  SO cute!

A few plans for the rest of the week. . . school, organizing, hopefully a little bit of sewing.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you. . .
