Don’t forget to stop by Peggy’s for all the links entered in this week’s Simple Woman’s Daybook.
For Today:
Outside my window. . . lots of leaves all around —really beautiful. I’m going to try and get out and shoot some pictures today.
I am thinking. . . again about the election. My heart feels heavy this morning.
From the schoolroom. . . we’re nearing the end of term one. We are behind on a few things but not too bad.
I am thankful for. . . trials and difficulties. That’s hard to type but I know that even in those God is present. I may not feel His consolations but still He is there and He carries me.
From the kitchen. . . tea for the sore throat. Oatmeal warm and comforting. Toast —I love toast. Lunch is going to be leftover rotini with marinara and shredded cheese. Dinner will be chicken and rice in some combination. Are you impressed?
I am creating. . . a bag/purse for my 12 yr. old dd. We picked the fabric out ages ago and she has been patiently waiting. I also want to start working on Christmas gifts.
I am going. . . well we were going to mass at noon and then to pray the rosary outside the church with a group of families. But we have sore throats and raging coughs here so we’re staying in and praying.
I am wearing. . . black knit slacks (that I altered from being maternity pants because I had two pair of the same), brown tee, navy blue zip front sweater, red socks and brown Crocs. Honestly it’s not as bad as it sounds. No make-up, heck I’m barely awake as I spent most of the night on the sofa because I couldn’t stop coughing. I did manage to brush my hair though . . .
I am reading. . . Fire Within still and Interior Castle which I am also listening to on my mp3 player.
I am hoping. . . for a good outcome to the election. At mass this week Fr. P asked the question of “what will future generations say about us”? Why? Because we have permitted 30 years of genocide in our nation. 30 years of legalized killing of our unborn children and as we move towards this election the prospects for that continuing are quite chilling. May God have mercy on us all!
I am hearing. . . the hum of the computer fan, Caillou on the TV and the sound of Kyle working on something in the basement workroom.
Around the house. . . tending the sick, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked. Instructing the ignorant, admonishing the sinner, bearing wrongs, forgiving offenses. The corporal and spiritual works of mercy right in my lap –thank you Lord!
One of my favorite things. . . Maria’s sweet nonsensical chatter as she plays.
A few plans for the rest of the week. . . voting tomorrow, basketball practice runs, RCIA, hopefully no doctor appointments or ER runs. Sleep would be nice.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you. . .
Please, vote for Life tomorrow!
