". . . when we say that the Church is a family, we mean it quite literally. The Church is not a reflection of the reality that is "family"—quite the opposite. The family is a reflection of the reality that is the Church." -Fr. Robert Johansen

Sewing Journal

I know some are waiting for a pattern and tutorial and I promise I WILL get to it but right now I have more pressing matters.

Long before Christmas I  had told Fr. I would hem his cope but time got away from us and he just remembered to bring it to me this past Sunday.  Since this Sunday begins Ordinary Time I have to get it done this week.

While I’m at it he also needs a new chalice veil and burse for Ordinary Time so I am making them as well.  The veil and burse on top are antiques that he brought to show me what to do.I’m a little nervous as I always am when making liturgical items but it’s going well so far.

I hope you’ll post pictures of the finished project. The fabric and embroidery you are working with are beautiful, so is the antique garment!
