Ineffective Blogging
Maureen over at Trinity Prep School posted a challenge to Write your OWN Seven Habits of Effective Homeschool Bloggers on your blog. While we are a homeschooling family I don’t consider this a strictly homeschooling blog. It’s a family life blog but hey she invited me anyway. So I’ve been thinking about it and I really don’t feel I’m qualified to write anything about effective blogging. The most obvious reason would be that I am NOT an effective blogger. In fact I am most definitely a slacker blogger. Oh sure I have some of Maureen’s “effective” traits in that I do try and be myself (boring as I am), I share photos and I try and check my spelling and grammar but beyond that I’m pretty pitifull. But hey I’m OK with that. I like blogging, but anything I do that’s beyond my vocation as a wife and mother has to serve me and not make me a slave to it. My goal is to be a higly effective Catholic woman, wife and mother. Anything else is just gravy and well we all know that too much gravy is fattening. At least it is for me.
So I blog when I have the time and inclination. That’s it.
Now, that being said, I must tell you that I DO really enjoy reading many other blogs. And thanks be to God that those who post at those blogs ARE effective bloggers because what else would I read while I’m sipping my morning tea? So check out some of the other lists (lots of links in Maureen comments) and see what you think.

Jun 7, 2006 - 07:06:34This is a great perspective, thanks for sharing it! When things get crazy around here it is easy to forget that I need to focus on what is important to my vocation as wife and mother, and just let the extra stuff slide for a while!
