Christmas 2006

I wanted to share a picture of our Christmas tree. It was a gift from my dear friend Sally and her family. The day we had planned to go and get a tree was the day Tim’s father passed away. As it got closer to Christmas I didn’t know when we would find the time so I sent out a request to our local homeschool group that if anyone could pick us up a tree and I would gladly pay them for it.
Sally’s dh Jim and her oldest son showed up with this beautiful tree and wouldn’t hear of letting me pay them for it. Sally told me to just think of it as the strangest baby gift I had ever received. But it wasn’t strange at all. It was truly special and truly generous.
And it’s a really great tree! It has hardly dropped any needles and it smells wonderful. But best of all every time I look at it I am reminded of the blessings of the family of God and of friends who don’t just say they care but show it.
Thanks Sally - you’re the best!
