I like wearing skirts but in the winter it’s a challenge because I do not like wearing tights (I just cannot stand how they feel) so I made myself some “pantaloons” today that are just perfect!
I used Simplicity 2611 and instead of the yoke attached stretch lace. This worked very well for not adding bulk under my skirts (something I do NOT need). They give just enough warmth to my legs...

I made this cape for Maria just after Christmas and finally got some pics. It’s a nice heavy weight wool lined with flannel backed satin. It’s her “church” cape.
She’s pretty thrilled with it.
Also, a new apron. A vintage pattern finished in black and white cotton. The pattern was a little too fussy for my taste. What I mean is, for an apron it just took too much time to...

The chalice veil* and burse** are finished!
The burse was the biggest challenge.
I found directions online but struggled for a bit until I finally figured it out.
I discovered in my research that the burse opens to the right –which was important for the fabric pattern’s direction, so I was glad to have found that out BEFORE I started sewing.
I delivered them (and the cope which only needed hemming)...

I know some are waiting for a pattern and tutorial and I promise I WILL get to it but right now I have more pressing matters.
Long before Christmas I had told Fr. I would hem his cope but time got away from us and he just remembered to bring it to me this past Sunday. Since this Sunday begins Ordinary Time I have to get it done this week.
