". . . when we say that the Church is a family, we mean it quite literally. The Church is not a reflection of the reality that is "family"—quite the opposite. The family is a reflection of the reality that is the Church." -Fr. Robert Johansen

Ballerina birthday

My baby turned three today.

003

I made her a leotard and ballet slippers as a birthday gift (the skirt was a thrift store find).  The slippers took three attempts until I got them right but the end result was good.   She loves them so that’s what matters.  The leotard was a bit small on her though.   Since it was a surprise I wasn’t able to try it on her ahead of time.  Turns out she’s not as tiny as I think she is.

The leo and ballets are adorable! Having made a swimsuit long ago, I do remember the difficulty of the leg and neck openings and am not sure I’d want to attempt that again. You make it look beautiful (and easy!).

  3. Wow! You MADE that? I can barely sew Boy Scout merit badges onto the sash…
I’m always in awe of people who can sew. Bet she loves it.

I second Barb when I say wow! You made that? They both look purchased. I only knew you made the shoes because you told me you did, but it never occurred to me that maybe you made the leotard. It looks purchased! Great job!
