A weekend of solemnities and a coloring contest

Tomorrow, June 23rd, is the solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Illuminated Ink’s coloring contest this month is beautiful picture of the Sacred Heart. It’s a nice activity for a hot summer afternoon and a beautiful visual reminder of the Heart which loves us so much.

And don’t forget a solemnity is a day of celebration, so even though tomorrow is Friday, it’s not a penitential day as usual. In fact Saturday is a solemnity too (The birth of Saint John the Baptist) so technically speaking the celebration starts tonight (solemnities begin with evening prayer of the preceding day) and lasts all weekend!
