A blog for the Catechism of the Catholic Church!

What an excellent idea! Hat tip to Maureen over at Trinity Prep School.

There’s a new blog dedicated specifically to “devotional & practical dialogue while READING THE COMPLETE CCC IN ONE YEAR”

So, why a blog about the CCC? Well, as the blog itself says, “Despite the depth of wisdom within its pages, the essential practicality, its deep historicity and its surprising devotional aspect the CCC is largely ignored by lay Catholics other than Catechumens and apparently it is ignored by not a few priests and bishops. Man, that’s gotta stop.

I couldn’t agree more! The Church hasn’t had a new universal catechism in more than 400 years. The CCC is a complete summary of what Catholics throughout the world believe in common. The late Pope John Paull II called this catechsim a “great gift” and indeed it is. I love the CCC and yet am continually amazed at how little it is utilized, read or referenced.

I’ll be checking out this blog daily. I hope a lot of others will be as well!

Michele,
Thanks for informing us about this new blog. I too am looking forward to a daily visit and hope that this blog will add a little more structure to my weak attempts at studying the CCC.
