A blast from the past

August 26, 2008

Isn’t this cute! It’s me and my sisters circa 1970. I’m the little blond one.

Today was my mom’s birthday (Happy Birthday Mommy!) and my cousin sent this picture to my mom by e-mail.  None of us had ever seen it before and when I showed it to my kids today they didn’t know who it was.  Finally 12 yr. old Mary said, “Oh! Is that you and Aunt Mel and Aunt Missy?”  “Yes,” I said, “it is!”

“But. . .” she replied, “it’s in color?”

Ouch!  We had color back in the 70’s sweetheart!  Kids sure keep you humble don’t they?

Wow, your middle daughter looks a little like you! What a resemblance.

I love the comment about color pictures. My niece once asked my brother if he had a dinosaur as a pet. Out of the mouths of babes…..

You three are beautiful! And you could be one of your own daughters!

Miss Mary………It is funny you said what you did.

Honestly I remember our 1st color TV ~ We were about this age.
A big Zenith color TV and out went our little round black and white TV that stood on 3 legs.

Ahhhhhh the memories….

Love, Aunt Missy

What a sweet picture. When I’ve told my children that we didn’t have color TV when I was a child, they somehow concluded that *color* didn’t exist then either. So, instead of talking about “when Mommy was little”, they talked about “Back in the black and white days”.
