I glance at the clock as I turn another page. Three minutes to midnight, time to finish reading and check on Matt and Mags before trying to sleep. Seconds later I hear a noise in the next room and the familiar thud of little feet hitting the floor. I quickly put my book down and rush into the hallway to intercept them.
I guide a disoriented Matthew into the bathroom and help him get situated. Back in bed...

my brand new custom built cutting table! Designed by moi and brought to reality by my wonderful son Kyle.
It’s been rainy here lately so the light isn’t great for taking pictures but you get the idea.
The table is 36″ wide and 72″ long so that my three 24″ x 36″ cutting mats fit perfectly on top. It’s 38″ high. I’m 5″ 6″ so this is a good...

I’m always amazed at how much the little ones pick up. The boys set up the mass kit this morning and told Maria they were having Mass and she could be the mommy. So she kept trying to get into my purse saying “I Mama!” until I finally figured out what she wanted —my head covering.

Don’t forget to stop by Peggy’s for all the links entered in this week’s Simple Woman’s Daybook.
Outside my window. . . windy and cool with a hint of rain.
I am thinking. . . about the upcoming election and the Rosary novena that begins today. Won’t you join us in praying for our country?

Saints are presented to us by Holy Mother Church for “the two I’s”: imitation and intercession.
As all Christians are called to imitate Christ, we also must experience self-emptying and the Cross, abandonment to providence and self-donation. We must be willing to lose everything.
We are not alone: the Church Militant and the Church Triumphant are closely knit, interwoven in charity. We on earth must...

Friendly bacteria that is.
It’s sauerkraut the old fashioned way. More commonly referred to today as “cultured vegetables”. It’s super good for you —a real immune system builder.
My recipe is simple —cabbage and carrots. Shred a head of cabbage and 6 large carrots (OK so there are a few big pieces in there. I don’t have a food processor, I do it the old fashioned...

Matthew 22: 15-21
Then the Pharisees went off and plotted how they might entrap him in speech. They sent their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. And you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion, for you do not regard a person’s status. Tell us, then, what is your opinion:...

I tired to go for a run yesterday and I was stopped by the police. Stopped because my route was blocked by the Palin rally. I had totally forgotten! That’s OK, I just went a different way. But I wish I had known that Kimberlee and family were waiting on line in the opposite direction. Then again given I was in sweats and had no make-up on —maybe not.
We didn’t even try to get tickets to...
