I’ll admit it, I’m a bit of a shoe snob. I like shoes, cute shoes. That’s why I have resisted those ugly Crocs type shoes for a while now.
But my baby has wide feet and finding shoes for her proved difficult. I had made her several pair of soft shoes which were great but didn’t cut it for outdoor weather. So I gave in and tried these.
I hate that they are non-biodegradable and made in...

There seems to be a good bit of speculation as to the wisdom of Sarah Palin being VP since she still has such young children. I don’t know and I don’t think it really does much good to speculate. Whether or not we would choose the same path is really irrelevant. Our situations aren’t the same and we aren’t all called to the same things.
But, lest we forget, we live in difficult times in...

Please pray for those who are in the path of hurricane Gustav and the strengthening tropical storm Hanna. While we hope it all comes to nothing I can imagine the anxiety so many there must have.
Ellen asked me in a previous post how the newlyweds were. They’re fine. Did I mention that they are moving to New Orleans in a the next week or so? Yeah I’m a little nervous. ....

Isn’t this cute! It’s me and my sisters circa 1970. I’m the little blond one.
Today was my mom’s birthday (Happy Birthday Mommy!) and my cousin sent this picture to my mom by e-mail. None of us had ever seen it before and when I showed it to my kids today they didn’t know who it was. Finally 12 yr. old Mary said, “Oh! Is that you and Aunt Mel and Aunt Missy?” ...

A reader scolded me the other day about not posting. She said she was tired of looking at my tomatoes. Can you believe the nerve of some people!? OK it was my sister and she knows how busy I’ve been!
In the last few months, I hosted a conference, my oldest son got married and my husband whisked me away for a surprise trip to Niagara Falls! Oh yeah and my car was hit . . . while parked in front of my...

(My sister Melissa told me she loves this weekly post, so much so that she wishes I would do it every day)
Don’t forget to stop by Peggy’s for all the links entered in this week’s Simple Woman’s Daybook.
Outside my window. . . overcast and muggy, my two least favorite conditions. I dislike overcast but I detest muggy.
I am thinking. . . about oh so many things I want to get started this week and done but...

Jiggety jig! My mom always said that and now I do.
We’re home! OK we’ve been home for a few days but I’m still trying to catch up.
It was so nice to get away for a few days but it sure feels good to be home. There’s nothing like a relaxing trip to give you clarity and help you refocus. . . until you get back to the daily grind and wonder where all that clarity and focus went (I’m only...
