There was a nifty little test in the packet that Ann Anzalone gave out at her Memphis talk last weekend. Hubby’s score was a 2 and mine was 18 and that puts us at the highest end of opposite spectrum’s. But you know what? I feel so validated now!! Really, we’ve had some good discussions since I got home and he admits that though he doesn’t understand the way I work, I truly DO get...

and actually “no” means “yes” too depending on how he says it. An emphatic “no!” is definitely no but “no” with a laugh and a smile means yes. I love the little ways they communicate at this age and I cherish every moment because I know that soon enough he’ll be saying “yes” and the smiling and laughing “no” will be gone...

I’m trying to catch up since getting home from Memphis. A weekend away at a conference always takes the wind out of me. I think it’s because I operate in hyper mode the whole time and then I come home and crash. I try not to but my body just doesn’t cooperate. I never sleep well when I travel and I could sleep for a week when I get home.
The conference was really quite nice. Of all the...

. . . my husband that is. Well not really. He’s only about a month and a half older than me and we both are turning 39 soon. He teases me about it all the time but today I got him back without even trying. I was shopping at Staples this afternoon when an older gentleman stopped me and asked if I was a member of St. Mary’s parish. I said I was and he asked if that family he always sees me with is...

I have been thinking about making this move for a while. I kept thinking it wasn’t necessary but have to admit I was rather limited at my previous address. So here I am – I’ve made the move!
And it’s definitely permanent because in moving everything from the other site I somehow stupidly deleted everything there!
I wish I had been able to import the comments but now they are lost. Oh...

I started a Yahoo sewing group for Catholic moms yesterday. I have been on several really good sewing groups but never a Catholic one. I’d really like to talk to other Catholic moms who sew and/or those who are interested but maybe don’t sew yet (or right now because of time constraints etc.). I’ve searched for a group like that but couldn’t find one – so of course I went ahead and...

I meant to blog about this before Lent but time got away from me (story of my life!)The Way of the Cross for Children – a coloring book Kathryn Mulderink, with drawings by Victor KyNam
At the suggestion of several families who found some good in the prayers for the Stations of the Cross that she put together for her own children, and with the help of Victor KyNam (the artist and seminarian who has illustrated...

OK so I am a bit behind. See the people in the pictures above? They come first.
BENEDICT XVI
GENERAL AUDIENCE
Wednesday, 1st March 2006
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today we begin our Lenten journey, when the Church invites us to ponder Christ’s saving work, to live out more deeply the reality of our Baptism and to draw rich nourishment from the Sacred Scripture. Above all, we are to relive with Jesus the forty...
